Strada Shoe Box:  Online Convenience With a Personal Touch

Buying shoes is online is tricky.  We try to be as thorough as we can about how our shoes will fit, but we  know that the best way to determine your perfect fit is by trying them on in person. Introducing Shoe Box, a service that combines online convenience with local service. 

How does the SHOE BOX program work?

Select up to six items from our online store and share your wishlist with us.  We will set up an appointment to deliver your items and validate your credit card through an authorization, plus $12.99. Rest assured we will only charge your card if you decide to keep the item(s).  Try the item, and only pay for what you decide to keep.  Only then will we charge your card for what you keep. 

Unfortunately the "Try Before You Buy" program is only available for home delivery within a 10 miles radius of Northampton at this time. 

What does "try" mean? Can I wear them outside?

Think of it as trying on shoes at a shoe store! We want to take the guess work out of sizing or style. So "try" means you can see if a new style or color fits what you were looking for or if the shoes fit right. It doesn't mean you can wear them outside and around town.

We only take back unworn shoes, so we suggest you try them on a carpeted area indoors to avoid any wear and tear.  IMPORTANT:  Please try your shoes in a way that won't damage them.  Shoes must be returned in new, re-salable condition (with all tags and original packaging) with no creases, scuffs, or damage to receive a full charge back, less the $12.99 as applicable.


Was my card charged when I placed the order?

We validate your card through an authorization for the full amount of the order plus a $12.99 delivery and pick up fee. You'll see a pending charge on your statement, but rest assured that's not a charge. We'll only charge your card for the items you decide to keep. The $12.99 will be credited towards your purchase.  If no purchase is made the $12.99 is used to cover our delivery and pick up costs.

How will I get my shoes?

We will contact you for a delivery date/time for your shoes.  You have until the end of your trial period (3 days) to contact us for a time to pick up the item(s) you want to return.

Can I try sale items?

Unfortunately, all of our sale items are final sale and not eligible for the "try before you buy" program.

What if I want to exchange the size?

Return them within 3 days and place a new order for the correct size. You won't be charged for the original trial order.

If you miss the trial window and your card is charged, please email us at within 14 days of purchase to process an exchange.


The shoes didn't work out, how do I return them?

Place your returns in the same box we delivered it in and call or email us for a time for pick up at


How do you know not to charge my card for the items I’m returning?

When you initiate a return, we know which items you plan on returning and know to expect these items to be picked up.  We inspect the items and process your returns.


What if I decided to keep the items but then want to initiate a return?

Once the 3 day trial period is over, your order will fall under our normal return policy. You can still exchange them up to 14 days after the date of purchase.


Why do I keep seeing "pending" charges on my online bank statement?

Please be assured that you will not be charged multiple times even if you see multiple "pending" charges on your online bank statement. You will only be charged once for whatever you decide to keep. If you any questions about this, please feel free to contact us via email at
